Our Beginning
Our Vision
The purpose of this network is to foster collaboration among churches that have grown out of the ministry of The Summit Church, which began in 2012 in West Fargo. Our mission is to plant new churches and strengthen the ones already established. This happens primarily through:
Deep, long-term relationships among leaders
Intentional discipleship of new pastors and elders following the pattern of 2 Timothy 2:2: “The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”
Helping each other build and send new church planting teams
Our Values
We are a Bible-believing, Christ-exalting, Spirit-filled family of God.
Bible-BelievingThe sixty-six books of the Bible are our sole, ultimate, final, and inerrant authority in faith and practice. Jesus declared, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’” (Matthew 4:4). He upheld the highest view of Scripture, calling it “The Word of God” (Matthew 15:6; Mark 7:13; John 10:35). It is our aim to have the same high view of Scripture that Jesus had.The Bible is the infallible foundation of the Gospel, the standard for doctrine, discipleship, and conflict resolution. It defines right and wrong for us, and must shape everything we believe and do. Apart from it, we do not have the necessary information to believe upon to be saved nor do we know confidently what we must do to walk in obedience to the Lord.Christ-ExaltingWe don’t just want to build upon Scripture; we want to emphasize what Scripture emphasizes: Jesus Christ.Jesus taught that the Old Testament finds its fulfillment in Him (Matthew 5:17), and that all Scripture ultimately points to Him (Luke 24:27). Paul affirms that all things were created through Him and for Him (Colossians 1:16) and that everything will one day be summed up in Him (Ephesians 1:10).Therefore, we seek to make Christ central in all we do, especially in our worship, our fellowship, and every aspect of our ministry.Spirit-FilledThe Holy Spirit empowers the Church to be effective witnesses for Christ, anointing them to preach the Gospel and operate in the supernatural spiritual gifts in order to edify the Church, establish the Kingdom of God, and fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 3:11; John 1:33; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 24:46-49; Acts 1:5-8; Acts 2:1-4; 1 Corinthians 1:5-7; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Ephesians 4:7-13; 1 Peter 4:10).In line with our doctrinal statement, we desire our fellowship, worship, and ministry to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit gives supernatural gifts to every believer (Romans 12:3-6), and we seek to serve and speak by His strength, rather than our own (1 Peter 4:11). We are completely dependent on abiding in Christ for all we do (John 15:1-11).We reject the notion that all supernatural (or sign) gifts have ceased (cessationism).Family of GodWe believe that the Church is something special. It is not merely a service provider, but a dynamic community of Christ-followers who are called by God to grow together in worship, fellowship, and purpose, for the advancement of God's Kingdom through Fargo and to the ends of the earth. At the heart of this is a deep, faithful love for one another. There is no substitute for time together, and true unity is built through shared life, shared mission, and shared love among brothers and sisters in Christ to the glory of God.
Our Philosophy
The Church is the people of God, founded upon the atoning work of Jesus Christ. At the cross, Jesus did more than save individuals, He created the family of God for all who believe in His name (John 1:12). The local church is the visible, gathered expression of this redeemed family, living together under the lordship of Christ. The local church is the Lord’s chosen means for carrying out the Great Commission, advancing the Kingdom of God, and proclaiming the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Scripture knows nothing of Christianity detached from the local church. Therefore, planting biblically faithful and healthy churches is not optional, it is central to Christ’s mission.Healthy local churches allow us to:
Be a pillar and support of the Gospel (1 Timothy 3:15).
Establish God-ordained leadership that provides shepherding, governance, and faithful Bible teaching.
Live as the body of Christ through tangible expressions of love, service, and mutual care, all for Christ’s glory.
Gather for worship that is reverent, orderly, and centered on God’s Word.
Faithfully reach a lost and dying world with the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Founder
Bryan McCrea, along with his wife, Michelle, led a team of families to Fargo, ND, in 2012 to plant the first church in our network. Bryan and Michelle have been married since 1986 and have 5 wonderful adult children and 18 grandchildren.Bryan graduated from Christ for the Nations in 1987 and has been involved in ministry ever since. He pastored Grace Fellowship in Toccoa, GA, for 15 years before moving to Fargo to plant The Summit Church. In 2020, Bryan led a second team to plant The Summit Church in Sioux Falls, SD. He continues to serve as the network’s senior leader, helping to equip pastors, develop leaders, and advance the mission of planting healthy, Bible-believing, Christ-exalting churches.

Our Work
The Summit Church was founded in West Fargo, ND, in 2012 by five families and has grown into a thriving, medium-sized church. Since then, we have had the privilege of sending out church plants to Sioux Falls, SD, in 2020 and the Twin Cities, MN, in 2024. Our mission is to faithfully shepherd the flock of God by raising up qualified elders (1 Peter 5:2) and developing leaders who are equipped to serve Christ and His Church. We are committed to raising up and sending church-planting teams to establish passionate, Bible-believing, Christ-exalting churches in new communities.
